I'm Still Here

Was only yesterday when I was twelve,
out in the backyard full of wonder.
Exactly how the hell did I get here?
Crazy spell that I've been under

Carving words in love's tapestry.
Letting go and grabbing hold.
All the while, I'm not noticing
how my life did unfold.
But I'm still here, I'm still here.

I've watched the sun rise on the ocean.
Fell asleep in my lover's arms
Held a baby, calmed it's crying
Been seduced by a women's charms

I worked my ass off for a dollar.
Applied some plans to make a home
I understand the word "family".
I 've felt the pain of being alone.
But I'm still here, I'm still here,
I'm still here

I've heard of wars and of dying,
cried through laughter, I've known pain
I dreamt a peaceful life for another;
stood, arms wide open, in the pouring rain.

I'm sorta like a weary traveler, lost and found along life's roads.
I raise my glass and toast my memories.
I'm glad I had the friends to share the load, share the load ,
oh, and we're still here.
We're still here.
I'm still here.
Oh, and we're still here, we're still here,
I'm still here.

We're sorta like weary travelers.
We're lost and found along life's roads.
Raise your glass and toast your memories;
aren't you glad you had the friends to share the load?
Oh, and we're still here, we're still here, I'm still here.
