Title : Someoneís Sister, live at Babes in Richmond, VA!! (Category : Concerts)
Date : 2005 January 14 Friday

Someoneís Sister will be appearing live at Babeís in Richmond, Virginia
January 14th at 8:00 Babe's 3166 W. Cary Street Richmond, VA 804-355-9330

Someoneís Sister is "the" up and coming, singing, song-writing, acoustic duo out of Greenville, NC, who just happened to have recorded there debut CD, "Hand Me Downs", right here in Wilmington, NC. This soulful mix is the story of two diverse womenís lives that will reach in to your hidden places and make an instant connection. In no time at all, you will feel a part of the crowd, a part of their music, and a part of the family. While artistically diverse, "Hand Me Downs" provides the perfect blending of rock and folk. Each cut allows Georgia Winfree and Katherine Jonesí style to unfold as your journey. The end result of this project has gained much attention since its recent release in October of 2004, having been referred to as "a cool glass of iced tea after a hot summerís day".

Georgia Winfree of Someoneís Sister, originally from Virginia, combines years of emotional expression with her musical travels. Her casual vocal style and revealing lyrics allow a glimpse into her own pain, survival and dedication to touching her audience. Katherine Jones of Someoneís Sister, originally from Raleigh NC, brings her positive yet realistic life perspective. By forging her own path through traditional acoustic style, Katherine has created her own artistic language.

While rare to find this blend of harmony, style and vocal expression, "Hand Me Downs" takes you one step further- it pushes you to think. Songs such as "Iím Still Here", and "Another Rainy Day"- a 9/11 tribute, capture raw emotion for the audience. For those that like to know that their listening moments are well spent, proceeds from the CD go to the prevention of child abuse, a cause close to their hearts. "After years of healing, all that is left is to change the world in your own small way", says Georgia Winfree, child abuse survivor.

Someoneís Sister is already mapping out plans for their second and third release to follow, "Hand Me Downs".

"Georgia and Katherine are writing beautiful songs.....well crafted lyrics, songs that have substance, musicality and GREAT melodies. These women have GORGEOUS voices, separately and together.....you NEED to hear these voices". Karen Kane - Producer/Engineer
