November, 2004 - Someone's Sister Goes
If anyone knows us, we are not the "living off the land" type of girls. With that in mind, we took off on a three day, five mile back-packing trip with Chris as our guide.
Not exactly "air guitar", but close.
The first night, we walked into Uwarrie National Forest and set up camp. It was dark that night but with the help of head lamps, we found rocks to
ring a camp fire with.
The next morning, Chris collected water from the stream, filtered it, and made breakfast. Ahhh, coffee.
Chris gave convincing instructions to lick the plate clean before using water.
Yes, we carried everything on our backs!
While we visited an old burial site, Georgia just knew that she had found a hidden, shallow grave.
The second night, it looked like rain. Sure enough, the rain began to fall just as we hung our tarp. After the sun went down, we sat under our tarp, cooked dinner, and talked about the day's adventures as the rain fell.
It was still raining after dinner so we decided to hit the sack. Inside the tent, we wore these very attractive head lamps.
Georgia insisted after carrying mashed potatoes 3 miles, they were going to be eaten. They made a wonderful breakfast.
Thanks to Chris, we did make it out alive and believe it or not, we will go back again!
